A Few Gems From The Local Music Store

A few weeks ago I headed into a local music store and picked up a few discs.
Here is what I got (in no specific order).

Blood, Sweat & Tears
Columbia Records  1969
I had not heard this album is so many years.  I jumped at it when I came across it in this store.  I forgot how amazing it was.
Pure magic.

Jeff Beck  Blow By Blow
Epic Records  1975
No one plays guitar like Jeff Beck.  Then you throw in George Martin’s brilliant production
and the result is this amazing album.  The last track on this disc,
“Diamond Cut,” is a true masterpiece.
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers  Damn the Torpedoes
MCA Records  1979
I read somewhere that this was Tom Petty’s response to the disco craze that was happening when this album was released.  If that is true then there is no doubt why disco faded a few years later and Tom Petty & band are still around.  Late 70’s rock-n-roll at its finest.
Bleach  Static
Forefront Records  1998
Bleach was a pretty good little alternative pop band that made music that was catchy.  You found yourself humming and singing their songs for days on end.  This is a fun little pop/rock album that I overlooked a few years ago and was really glad that I came across.  Fun catchy songs.

What music have you found recently?
